PHS staffers Luci Duckson-Bramble and David Staniunas were in and around Charlotte, North Carolina in late June to join the biennial gathering of the National Black Presbyterian Caucus. Our thanks go out first to the organizers of the event, especially to our colleague Lynne Foreman. Here’s a snapshot of our time there.

A Fresh Look at

Youth Triennium

Every three summers since 1980, high school students from all over the world have come together for the Presbyterian Youth Triennium (PYT)  to create a community of young Presbyterians committed to strengthening their relationships with God and the church. This year's gathering will take place from July 28-31 in Louisville, KY.

Campaign Update

In the spring of 2023, PHS launched its first fundraising campaign, Preserving the Past, Empowering the Future, with a goal to raise $500,000 over a three-year period. It has been a busy two-and-a-half years, and we are thrilled with the response from friends and supporters of PHS. We have raised over $425,000, and your generosity has enabled us to install the ADA-compliant access ramp and hire a new Outreach Specialist.

Over the remaining months of 2025, we hope to move forward with other campaign deliverables—including more accessible electrical outlets and more comfortable furniture in the reading room.

We’re almost at the finish line but still need your help. To aid in this final push, a generous donor has pledged to match all gifts up to $20,000. So, if you haven’t made a gift already, please consider one of any size. And, if you have already made a gift, consider another.

Now Processed: Dwight Indian Training School Records

In 2023, PHS staff, through connections with First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa's History & Archives Committee, arranged to borrow, digitize, & return Dwight Indian Training School materials held by the Dwight Mission Board. This collaborative digitization project led PHS staff to revisit our own Dwight Indian Training School records, a small set of mainly student files that PHS obtained in a 1987 accession, & to fully process and inventory the records.
