PHS at NBPC

PHS staffers Luci Duckson-Bramble and David Staniunas were in and around Charlotte, North Carolina in late June to join the biennial gathering of the National Black Presbyterian Caucus. From the Archives: Presbyterianism in Cuba

We've recently digitized in full a 259-page photograph album pieced together by the Presbytery of Cuba in 1949. The scrapbook was created with the intention of commemorating the first 50 years of mission work in the country—inside, group shots of students, teachers, pastors and their families, and missionaries abound.

October Movie Night at PHS

Join us on for a screening of "The Philadelphia Eleven," a feature-length documentary film by Margo Guernsey and Nikki Bramley that tells the story of the eleven women ordained into the Episcopalian priesthood on July 29, 1974, in a controversial ceremony held at the Church of the Advocate in Philadelphia. Please note that this event is FREE, but since space is limited, we require you to RSVP.
